Prayer Tip: Prayer is the Work

Most of us put a high value on performance and getting things done for God. Many mistakenly base their personal worth on what they can do.

Children learn this early. How many times have you heard a young child say, “I do it myself.”? A huge majority never get beyond this. A popular song in the 70’s repeated the refrain, “I did it my way.”

It occurred to me the other day that if we really wanted to get things done, why wouldn’t we eagerly respond to the invitation of One who is all powerful and promises, “if you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”?

Talk about getting things done! He is the One who speaks and it happens. He commanded the earth and it stood firm.

Jesus says we are doing the work of God when we “believe in Him Whom He has sent.” John 6:29

Several have concluded, “Prayer is the work.”

Would you really like to see kingdom things done? Get busy praying.
